I was surfing the internet the other day in hopes that I could find out what the best kind of dog food was for my dog. Along the way I stumbled on an article that discussed how much protein a dog should intake on a daily basis. What I found was that there really is no absolute number or quantity that they should consume rather just a good portion depending on the size of the dog. Lucky (my dog) is relatively small and eats twice on a daily basis, along with the periodic snacking on treats throughout the day. I have started giving my dog 1/2 gram of protein per body weight because I figure if a human can consume 1 g of protein per pound to stay strong a 1/2 g per pound for dogs should be just fine. I will monitor my dogs activity and get back to the forum!
What a great forum this is! My name is Dan, my girlfriend and I own a chocolate lab named Lucky. Our dog is a young little pup who enjoys running along side of me on dirt trails and the occasional swim in the lake. Lucky isn’t the best swimmer but hes learning how relatively fast. This is Lucky’s first winter, one which has been filled with tons of rolling in the snow and at times sinking in it because hes so little. My girlfriend and I are anticipating spring to get here so that Lucky will be free to explore the outdoors once again! Anyways, its time for Lucky to go for a walk. Hope yall can share a little about your dogs also!

Studies have shown that glucosamine helps rehabilitate cartilage and reduce the progress of dog arthritis while reducing pain and increase mobility in dogs. There are no side effects and is very safe. Any suggestions on other supplements for dogs please leave feedback on this post. Thanks
